Farewell to Perfect Pennants

Only one week left before so many fun products will be retiring! For my last card night I wanted to showcase as many retiring products as possible so that my customers could see these things in action and scoop them up if they can't live without something!

These two cards show a simple card design, but a different variation of each. I like that my guests can create the kind of card they want to make...choosing the embossed background, patterned paper, and stamps.

Birthday Candles CASE

I LOVE this card we made at my February Birthday Bash Card Making Night. I will openly admit that everything about this card was CASED by Mary Brown at Stamper Camper's Corner. I fell completely in love with it when I first laid eyes on it, so I figure it would be perfect for card night and I didn't have to do all the thinking of coming up with a design! Win-win!

It's a fun fancy fold and she has all of the measurements and directions on her blog if you're interested in finding out.

Come visit the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog for more birthday cards as we help join in the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement!

Shimmery Birthday Balloon

Good morning! I have a fun card for you today that shows off a little shimmer! The first picture of this card may be a little hard to tell, but the polka dots on the balloon have a little shine and shimmer to them (take a peek at the second picture posted for a better look).

I created this card for February's card night (the theme was birthdays!). I used the Perfect Pairings Sale-A-Bration stamp set (only available through TODAY!!) and the Celebrate Today stamp set and coordinating Balloon Framelits. I love the boldness of the Happy Birthday sentiment (you can see the Sale-A-Bration freebies HERE).

Here is an up close of the shimmer on the balloons. To get this effect I used Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. It gives it that subtle shine to add a fun touch to a card.

2016 Sale-A-Bration is just a few days away from being over! With any $50 purchase, you will get to choose a FREEBIE from a select set of products, so don't miss out!

The stamp set I used in the card below is one of the newer Sale-A-Bration offerings called Party Pants. I created this card for my March Card Making Night.

I paired it with some of the Sale-A-Bration metallic tape.

Friday Favorites ~ It's My Party

I am really loving the It's My Party suite these days. The bright colors are so fun and although I usually steer away from black...I am digging the accent of this color in some of the paper and products. I love that this paper stack comes with 4 of each design as I can really make it stretch! The coordinating washi tape is fabulous and those sweet little enamel dots are perfect for the right accent (if Stampin' Up! could only keep them in stock...haha!)

This particular card design I created for my February card night.

Here is one of the cards using one side of the DSP (stripes)...

And another card using the confetti background (the other side of the DSP)...

I added a little bit of Wink of Stella to the birthday cake to give it some pizzazz and shine, as well as some silver metallic thread peeking out of the back of the circle.

It's My Party

It was my 38th birthday on Sunday! Not sure how that number came so quickly, but it is here nonetheless and I plan to embrace this year!! It was a day full of so many sweet blessings from friends and family and I truly felt loved.

So...

let's party on!

We're sharing our favorite DSP today at the SSINK blog and my favorite right now fits perfectly with my birthday week (I can still celebrate all this week, right?!). I am loving the It's My Party DSP Stack. Even with it's dark colors, I just love the Melon Mambo pairing with it and Mint Macaron is quickly becoming another favorite! And, that twine? L-O-V-E.

Happy Birthday, Everyone

Sweet and simple today! I was in need of a quick birthday card and I just knew the the large sentiment from the hostess set called Happy Birthday, Everyone would be the perfect fit!

When you host a party or workshop you can purchase this host exclusive set from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog using your host rewards! It's not available any other way (other than placing a giant order of your own! ;) I love this set because you can use the Happy Birthday sentiment all on its own or you can choose to build on it with the words provided like I did with these cards I made when the set was first available.

Quick & Easy Hello

My monthly card making night is tonight! Here is a quick & easy design I created for my event that showcases THREE Sale-A-Bration products!

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

I specifically wanted to showcase the Hello stamp set as this particular set will only be available to earn for free through February 15th. I made a sample for a boy and a girl, so each of the stampers will get to choose which they'd like to make!

Celebrate Today ~ It's My Party!

We're sharing birthday cards today at the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog!

I created this card to use for Tuesday's card making night. I love this layout because it is such a fun way to show off a variety of paper patterns in one card. This card showcases the new It's My Party DSP Stack, which you can find in the new 2016 Occasions Catalog!

I couldn't decide which way I liked the banner to be, so I just gave the option to do both! Plus, my guests could choose from the new Two-Tone Bake's Twine ~ either Mint Macaron or Melon Mambo. And do you spy the new It's My Party Enamel Dots? They come in three different colors (Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry) with two sizes of each.

Which way do you think you would attach the banner?
Straight or tied onto the twine and let it hang?

Crazy About {Flowers}

Last month for my card making night I decided to use the Crazy About You stamp set and Hello You Thinlits (purchase as a bundle and save 15%!)

http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=138873

I had the Crazy About You stamp set out for all the stampers to choose exactly what message they wanted their card to say. With a quick run through of the Big Shot Die-Cutting machine with their favorite of three Hello You Thinlits adhered using the Fine Tip Glue Pen they were on their way in making a fun and bright card! How could you not be happy with all of those Daffodil Delight flowers (which the flower image comes in the set, by the way!)

I am showing three of the samples I made. (The design for this card was inspired by Michelle at Stampin' 365.)

Favorite DSP - Cherry on Top

Today at the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog we are sharing our favorite paper! Stampin' Up! has so many fun paper designs in both our Annual Catalog and the 2015 Holiday Catalog. Right now my favorite is the Cherry on Top DSP Stack. This pack of paper is 6 x 6 and there are 4 of each 12 double-sided designs. They are all so bright and cheery!!

This was actually one of the card designs I created for this month's card making night.

This was another sample. It's pretty much the same, but I used a different background.

Washi Tape Build-A-Birthday Cake

Today at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration we are showcasing washi tape! I think my favorite washi tape from this year's Annual Catalog is the Cherry on Top Designer Series Washi Tape. The colors and patterns are so fun and vibrant!

This Build A Birthday stamp set is the perfect one to use washi tape with! The first layer of the cake is stamped in Crushed Curry using a stamp from the set. There are more stamps in the set that create layers of the cake, but I chose to use two strips of washi tape for the top two layers instead. I used this card for my September Card Night and each guest could pick from some different pattern papers I had available from the Cherry on Top DSP Stack, which coordinates with the washi tape!

Watercolor Wash

Today over at the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog we are sharing card creations using single stamps! I chose to showcase the *new* Watercolor Wash background stamp. When I saw this stamp one of the things that jumped out at me was I thought it looked like water, so I ran with that for today's card I am sharing.

If you're a regular visitor to my blog, this card may look a little familiar. I created it back in July to use as a swap for Convention. I decided that it would work great for one of my cards I could use at card making night this month. This time around I changed the color of the background to Marina Mist and swapped out the sentiment to make it Happy Birthday (instead of thank you). The little turtle I kept the same and still added the pearl accents for "bubbles", as well as the Crystal Effects for the turtle's shell.

Butterfly Birthday (Weekly Deals)

Well, hello there! Glad to see you all here again. It's been awhile...

Woo hoo ~ card night is back!! We started up my monthly card making nights again. I always take a summer break and then roll right back into it when September comes around. Although I kind of had forgotten how much work it takes to put these card nights together. It was a busy day yesterday to pull it off...even though it came down to the wire I was able to make it happen! This year the theme is "Chocolate & Cards" and every month I plan to make a fun chocolate-y dessert for everyone to enjoy! Last night was Zucchini Brownies.

Today I am sharing one of the cards we created last night, which also showcases two of the Weekly Deals this week! (See below for more information on those deals!)

This card had a few extra steps, but with my card nights I like to create cards that are challenging, moderately easy, and then quick to put together. I was excited to add some gold accents to the card because I often will choose silver over gold. I added a button, cording and the strip of foil. I love the colors of Calypso Coral, Garden Green, and Gold paired with the softer neutral Very Vanilla. Adding large polka dots to the background just helped make the card pop a little more!

Your Presents Make n Take

Tomorrow night we are having a team meeting and I an in charge of planning the make n take for the evening. Much of the information we will be talking about and discussing will be about Convention, so I thought it would be smart (and easy) to bring a make n take we created while at Convention (work smarter, not harder...right?!). However, I wanted to change it up just a wee bit...mostly because I often like to put my own extra touch on cards I CASE.

At our meeting, I am going to be demonstrating the kissing technique. I decided just to focus on using one of the presents for "kissing" (top right present). I will bring the sample of the card I created for yesterday's post to have available to look at which shows many other "kissing presents". I think this will be an easy enough card for the gals to re-create.

Here are the cards side by side.

Your Presents - Boxes & Bows

The minute I saw this week's card sketch at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, I just knew which stamp set I was going to pull out to play with!! This is the set we got for free at Convention! We used it for a make n take while at Convention and they shared with us that this set was perfect to showcase the "kissing technique". I have used this technique a time or two, but this set really does work great for it!

I used the kissing technique on the far left present and then the two presents on the right. I also thought it would be fun if I created a different kind of bow for each of the presents. I felt like I needed something to fill the white space, so I used the Dotty Angles stamp set to create falling confetti. This is one of those cards that I wouldn't use for a card night...it had a lot of steps! Someone extra special will be getting this card at some point! ;)

Catalog CASE - Birthday Bag

The Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration gals are CASEing some cute cards and projects from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog today. This is one of my favorite posts we do because I always know that I have permission (I know I don't really need it!) to just copy! My inspiration to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) the catalog comes from page 105. This card really caught my eye and I realized that it uses the new Cherry on Top DSP Stack that I love so much.

Although you can tell that I didn't copy everything exactly the same, the design of the card is pretty much a twin! I used a different background (birthday candles) primarily because I was all out of the kind that shows on the card in the catalog. I loved the idea of the cute little birthday bag, so I replicated that exactly. I stuck some white tissue paper into the bag to stick out, created a Whisper White Baker's Twine handle and tied a Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine bow onto the handle. So cute!

The "happy birthday" is actually one single stamp that I repeated three different times. To help me line up each of those perfectly, I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. This particular stamp set is wood mount, so it helped me tremendously in making sure everything was straight.

Schoolhouse Birthday

We are celebrating my nephew's birthday on Sunday and I needed a card for him (because apparently none of the forty-some birthday cards I already have lying around will do...ha!). I have been in a slump with creating, so I took my little burst of motivation and ran with it.

One thing I am discovering as I continue to seek out what it means to "let go and hold on" (see Monday's post) is that sometimes the process of creating a card just takes me way too much time. I feel like I have to have every little piece in the perfect place and by the end of my creative session I am drained...and honestly, frustrated with the process. Being a perfectionist does have its disadvantages! Today I exercised my ability to just put something on paper and be happy with it without going through a rigorous process of deciding whether I like this or that. What a great feeling to get er done in a snap!  And it helps a ton that I like the final product! ;)

First I simply grabbed my favorite Designer Series Paper pack called Schoolhouse. Such fun prints!! Next I searched Pinterest really quick for a card sketch that would get me going in the right direction. Then I grabbed a stamp set I knew would be great for an 8 year old birthday boy and before I knew it...I was done! Quick, easy, painless...and fun!!

SSINK - Bohemian Birthday

We're sharing birthday cards today on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog! I have a fun one to show you that I created back in June for an "in-the-mail" swap I participated in when the new catalog came out. You'll recognize this "happy birthday" sentiment as I have shared it a time or two (or three) on the blog already. This is a new host set called Happy Birthday, Everyone. I just love it...can you tell?

I often will start a card for a swap and before I know it there seems to be a bazillion steps to it that I eventually have to repeat 20+ times! LOL! Can anyone relate? But in the end, I have to be happy with it ~ extra steps and all! I often don't have time to just sit down and knock it out all at once, so I end up taking it "on the go" and do a little mama multi-tasking. ;)

{Watching my little man play football and assembling swaps at the same time!}

This card highlights the new Bohemian Designer Series Paper. So many fun prints and I love the color combinations. I also added the background stamp from the set You've Got This. This stamp adds some visual to the background of the card instead of just leaving it plain. I added the new 1" Dotted Lace Trim in Delightful Dijon underneath the birthday sentiment. Probably the most difficult piece to this card was tying the Gold and Bermuda Bay Sequin trim together with a Linen Thread bow. Such itty bitty pieces for my hands!!
