color time at the paper players!

I took a little break from sketches after my guest designing duties ended at The Paper Players, but I couldn't stay away for long!! As I was planning for my monthly card night this week, I headed over to The Paper Players to get some inspiration and found this great color combo...

I wanted to showcase some of the new catalog products at my card night, so I chose the Make a Cake set and pulled out my handy dandy Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up everything just right. It was fun to see what all the ladies came up with to create their very own cake...wish I would have snapped some pictures! I chose to do a wedding cake and will be saving it for my cousin who will be getting married in a month. Perfect!

Just got this card in under the wire as the linky closes at noon. Head on over to The Paper Players to see all the great inspiration using these three colors.

pinterest-inspired summer gifts

Today is my son's last day of pre-school and I wanted to give his teacher and classmates a fun little treat before summer begins! I had seen an idea floating around on Pinterest that suggested using a beverage dispenser and filling it with goodies and giving it to the teacher on the last day of school. Yesterday during my "quick trip" (ha!) to Target I ran across the cutest lemonade container and the following idea came to life. I grabbed a package of matching lemon napkins, container of powdered lemonade mix, and some lemon drops...
Although I wanted to go a little lemon-crazy and find some other goodies, I decided that my goal was to make sure everything fit inside, so I stuck with the basics.
I finished it off with a tag that says "Hope you have a refreshing summer!" The lemon stamp is from the retired (and will always be missed) stamp set Tart & Tangy.

The treat for his classmates was something I found directly from something I pinned. The creator used Krazy Straw water bottles and attached the Kool-Aid to those, but it was more "cost-friendly" for me to buy fun crazy straws (although my son only has 9 classmates, I plan to do this for my daughter's class of 24, as well!). The tags were printed from the creator who so generously offered a free printable! Click HERE to see her original post. How sweet of her to offer this to others who need a quick little gift idea.

stamp club - may 2012

Fourth Friday stamp club last month was another fun night! We had a "pre-celebration" of the new catalog debuting and started the evening playing with the new In Colors!

 New Catalog Bookmarks

We also made a card showcasing the new In Colors and let the colors do the talking!

And thanks to Julie Davison and her creative inspiration, we made this cute tea bag holder. I loved her design, but I gave it my own personal touch by changing the colors along with a few other simple things. I added the hearts to look like steam coming out of the spout. Too fun!

We also made a telescoping card using Julie's tutorial. Can I take a minute and say how thankful I am for so many generous and awesome fellow demonstrators who share their talent with the rest of us?! Julie Davison is one of those gals! Thank you for helping to make crafting just a little bit easier and taking the stress off of coming up with fun projects on my own...just like this one!

Each month the two hostesses receive a paper & embellishment pack. Here is this month's gift...

At each club gathering, I also hand out a sketch to encourage each of the ladies to play with their new products! Here is last month's sketch (found on Clean & Simple Stamping).
My take on the sketch,

Here are the cards that some of the ladies created...

One more club to go before a summer break!
Everyone is so excited to order some fun new products from the NEW CATALOG!
