It's Monday!! The weekend went by in a blur, but I had a quick minute to stamp on Friday with the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge for this week. Isn't this a super fun combo?! I sometimes like being limited to just a few great colors as it gives me something I can pull together quick and easy.

SSINK - January Color Challenge

I'm kicking off the new year with the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration gals by playing in our first Color Challenge of 2015! This monochromatic color combo has lots of potential, so be sure to head on over to our blog to see what all of the other designers have created with it (click on the banner above).

For my card, I reached for the new Sale-A-Bration stamp set Best Day Ever (free with a $50 purchase!). It turned out SUPER simple, but I like it that way! ;) Plus this card is flat and ready to mail!

Happy Monday Stampers!

We have a fun color combo for you today over at the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog. Aren't these colors great together? This combination reminds me of a classic and elegant Christmas card so that is exactly what I tried to pull off with my creation today. I stamped the greeting on vellum which made a pretty effect as you can see the stars through the vellum. I added Cherry Cobbler bitty stars in the middle of the stamped star images to give an extra pop of color. The classic black strips on the two sides was just the right amount of black this card needed.

I had to pull out the Amazing Birthday stamp set again (I just love this set!) The large image is perfect to use all three colors on. I think my favorite on this card is the candy dots accents.

SSINK - kind koala color challenge

This little koala came in my favorite brown box last week and I couldn't wait to get him all inky. However, I had to do a little minor adjustment to this single wood mount stamp. You see...he started out looking like this...

 

The words "thinking of YOU" are attached to the stamp.

Although I thought it was cute, I wanted him to be a little more versatile, so before mounting the stamp I trimmed off the words and so now I only have the koala with the flower. I normally don't recommend butchering your stamps, but in this case I knew I would use him more without the words. It was tough to trim off the bottom, so you will see that there is part where it doesn't stamp as crisp as the rest of the outline of the koala. The risk I took! ;)

This card is a little thank you for all of my Craft Cleanout Sale participants and since there were 15 who joined me, I needed a quick and easy card to duplicate 15 times! I opted for using the Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes. These are smaller cards already pre-cut and folded and include envelopes...20 cards for only $5.95! Easy to whip up a handful of cards lickety-split!

I used the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration August Color Challenge to help inspire me. Not gonna lie...the Mossy Meadow color threw me for a loop (still waiting for the dark green to grow on me!), but in the end the splash of green was a good compliment to the extra heavy Strawberry Slush I used!

SSINK color challenge - June

I attended a wedding on Saturday and needed a card for the fun occasion! I knew there was going to be an upcoming color challenge with the SSINK blog, so I created the card using this fab color combo. It was perfect for a Spring wedding card (plus, one of the colors is Blushing BRIDE...how perfect!)

 Of course I also needed a little sketch inspiration, so I used the Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #186.

 

And, The Paper Players theme for this week is Wedded Bliss, so how fitting to also link up this card there!

I just had to ink up the retiring Make a Cake one more time to show you how awesome this stamp set is!! A couple of weeks ago I also showcased this set as I had used it one of the cards for my May Card Making Night. I hope you all have been getting some great inspiration from the handful of retiring stamp sets I have been sharing over the last couple of weeks. As a demonstrator it's hard to let some of these great sets go, but many of them I will hang onto for personal use. It's been fun pulling them out and inking them up!

I needed a baby card for a friend, so I headed over to The Paper Players for some sketch inspiration and then used Fab Friday's color combo.

Technically this card is for a baby boy, but I figured the Crisp Cantaloupe wasn't too pink and the two shades of blue help lean in that direction...even the hubby said it works for a boy! ;) I have to admit I had a hard time adding in the Summer Starfruit, but was giddy when I pulled out the dahlia to make the finishing touch...it was just what it needed!

fabulous florets with a sketch and a color challenge

Tonight is my monthly card making night and I decided that I would use only retiring stamp sets to showcase some of the "good ones" that we will be soon saying goodbye to! I chose the stamp sets I had in my stash that aren't currently sold out. Yesterday, I shared the set Lacy & Lovely in a quick and easy card and today I used Fabulous Florets as the second card for card night.

I decided to have a little fun with some blog challenges this week in creating this card...

The papercrafting challenge blog, Can You Case It? is having a challenge to create thank you cards! The card below certainly fits the theme with the "Thank You So Much" from the Lots of Thanks stamp set. 

For color inspiration I used the color combo from The Paper Players (PP195). So soft and pretty!

For a little help with my card layout, I used part of the sketch from Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, 

As you can see I cut part of the edge off on the right of the card and showing through underneath is some DSP. This just gives a fun twist on the card!

On the inside, I also added a small scallop border using the Scallop Dotted Ribbon Border Punch.
