ssink - friday favorites (white christmas)

I have a fun card to share with you today using one of my Christmas favorites! The stamp set is called White Christmas (available in photopolymer). Have you seen this adorable set yet? I love all of the little pieces you could use to create a snowy winter scene.

My card was inspired by this card by Kerry Timms. I loved the little banner she made with the ribbon wrapped around it. I added my own little touches to it by adding a starry sky using the Confetti Stars Punch with some silver glimmer paper underneath it and also added some snow to the trees. For the snow on the ground and in the trees I used the white gel pen.

I also added a cute little polar bear that I hand cut out and popped up on a Dimensional. He's just so cute!

Stamp Sets
White Christmas, Endless Wishes
Ink

Paper
Whisper White, Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Silver Glimmer Paper

3rd Annual Team Beach Retreat

I can't believe I haven't posted the fun details about my annual Stampin' Up! team beach retreat from the beginning of October. (I had pictures uploaded...just hadn't posted yet. Distracted much?)

Myself and four other demonstrators (including my upline and two of my downline) whisked ourselves away to Bella Beach in Oregon (just a little south of Lincoln City) where we stayed THREE nights and stamped the weekend away! It was so. much. fun! I got a ton done and it was nice to just recharge for the weekend doing the things we love!

I should have taken a picture of what the living room looked like before we took over! This was the second year we stayed in the exact same house. We might need to look for another house to stay in if our team keeps getting bigger! The bonus for staying at this house, though, is that we got to stay the 3rd night for FREE...such a great deal!

Here is our set up...

The name of the house...

Laura, Kim, Terri, Andrea, and me...

Although we spent most of our time indoors and it did rain a little (come on...it's the Oregon Coast ~ of course it rained! :), we did go for a nice walk to see the ocean. We came right when it was high tide and the water came right up to the stairs, so we couldn't even walk on the beach.

We started a new tradition this year and brought a "Secret Stamper" gift to exchange. We each drew a name and that is who we gave our gift to. It was fun to get a present!

My gift was from Andrea (my upline). She packaged the gift with a Paper Pumpkin box turned inside out. Inside she covered the box with DSP and there was a package of tissues, chapstick, and lotion.

This is what it looked like before I opened it. That Santa is so clever! His mustache/beard is made with the Bigz Bow Die.

Andrea received her gift from Terri. Doesn't Andrea coordinate colors perfectly with the cute fry box Terri made her? Inside are some little goodies and it's finished off with a tag. So creative!

This is my big sister Kim (and one of my downline). Her gift was from Laura. A cute little box filled with a package of tissue, hand sanitizer, a file, and other goodies.

Laura received this fun candle from Kim. It is shaped as a coffee mug. Too cute!

Terri (one of my downline) received this gift from me. One of our polka dot bags turned into a different shaped bag (see my post here) and a chevron bag filled with notecards using the stamp set "For the Birds" (see my post here).

Most of the weekend was spent doing whatever we wanted, but we also brought some make n takes that each of us could make at some point during the weekend. It gave us a chance to "take a break" from having to be creative on our own and we could just stamp to enjoy it with someone else doing all the prep work.

Make n Take Cards

This the card I designed for the girls to make. It might already look familiar as it was my swap card I created for the Holiday Catalog Swap with the Control Freaks.

I already can't wait for next year's retreat!! Tonight is our Stampin' Up! Team Meeting, so I'll be back to share some of our swaps and the inspiration that came from the meeting!

ssink - quick and easy with petite petals

November card night was this week (we meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month!). It was such a fun night and I am still so amazed that all 23 stampers fit in my living room rotating table to table.

Today the SSINK designers are showcasing some quick and easy cards on our blog and I wanted to share one of the cards we made at card night. To help me with my creative mojo, I found this sketch from Retro Sketches that worked perfectly with the Petite Petals stamp set that I wanted to use.

Not sure if you can see it but on the left hand side of the card I used my Scoring Tool to create three score lines to give it something "extra" on the left part of the card.

Calypso Coral & Crisp Cantaloupe - what a duo!

ssink ~ festival of trees

Hi Stamping Friends! I have been a little non-existent here on my blog. Most of it is due to my crazy idea to swap rooms so that my stamping studio will now be downstairs instead of upstairs. Of course this is all after redoing my craft room last December. My sweet husband...he's so patient with me!! He helped with the transition all without one bit of complaining. I am in the final organizing phases of where "this and that" goes, but I hope to be done soon so I can actually start stamping again!!

Before I moved rooms, I planned some cards for one of my Card Clubs at the beginning of the month. Because we aren't meeting in December, I wanted to design at least one Christmas card everyone could make. I just love the Festival of Trees stamp set and coordinating punch! Topping off the tree with a gold glimmer star was the perfect finishing touch!!

Stop on by the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog for some more inspiring Christmas cards!

the creation station blog hop - seasonally scattered

I can't believe that November is already here! Seriously...where did October go?! It's the 1st Sunday of the month and that means it's hopping time with The Creation Station, so I hope that you will hop along with us and get a little inspiration today!

For today's hop we were able to choose from the following (any or all):
1. Stamp Set: Seasonally Scattered
2. Theme: Gift Card Holders
3. Accessory: Gift Card Holders using our dies or the Gift Card Enclosure Pack

I chose the Seasonally Scattered stamp set to showcase today. What a fun set this is!! The card I created to share today uses a fun fold. Take a peek in the photo tutorial below.

The front flap tucks underneath the baker's twine.

I used the And Many More stamp set and using a marker colored in just the GIVE part of the "Give Thanks" sentiment in this set. By doing this I could turn this card into a Thanksgiving card. I used this similar technique with this card, as well. This up close picture also shows the two different colors I used on the stamp ~ Tangerine Tango and Crushed Curry.

These Autumn Wooden Elements are such a fun addition to Fall cards!
