Foxy Friends

Hello Stamping Friends!!

So...my 3 month (plus?) hiatus was unintentional, but actually really good for me! I spent a wonderful summer with the kids and didn't need to stress about feeling like I have to put something on the blog. Or that I had to create anything. With a regular schedule back in place, I feel motivated to start adding to my blog again. So here I am! :)

Have you seen the adorable stamp set called Foxy Friends? Oh, it's the cutest!! Can you just see all of the sweet animals you can make from this set? What's even better is that this set also comes as a bundle with the coordinating Fox Builder Punch. Save 10% by purchasing both of them together!

Over the past few months I have made some things using this set...

When the new catalog came out, I participated in a card swap with some fellow demonstrators. I actually had a really fun time creating this card, especially using the fun prints from the "A Little Foxy" DSP Stack.

This card is one from my June card making night (the month the new catalog goodies became available!) It is a CASE from Wendy Cranford..with a few of my own additions. You can see her card here. Don't you just love that sweet raccoon? Again...notice the DSP?

This summer I also had the pleasure of creating a baby shower invite for a family member. I thought these turned out so sweet!

And, just this last week I held my monthly card night for October and this was one of the card designs. The two cards below are basically the same thing with just a few differences in ribbon, sentiment, and enamel shapes.

For those of you who have still stuck around, I would love for you to say a little hello! Let me know if you have any specific questions on any of the products you see and I am happy to answer.

Also...don't forget that now through October 31st, Stampin' Up! is offering the Buy 3, Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper special. Visit my online store at heidiboos.stampinup.net (click on SHOP NOW) to take advantage of the sale!

4th Annual Sale-A-Brate Our Downline!

This is about a month and a half overdue (along with many other blog posts I have been "meaning to write"), but it's better late than never to play a little catch up. February & March have been so busy, but I hope for things to be slowing down a little. As I type this I am at the beach house enjoying a little "downtime" with my family for Spring Break. No laundry to do or things to clean. Now I can put my time towards other things...like blogging while the kiddos are asleep!

Each year my upline (Andrea) and I put together a little "Sale-A-Bration" of our own and we come together to sale-a-brate our downline in a fun way. This is our fourth year, so if you want to see some of the other things we have done in the past you can click HERE and HERE (apparently I didn't blog about it last year - oops!) We have a small group, but we still try to make it special!

We always like to start with a meal that both Andrea and I plan and put together. This year we went on the lighter side and had sandwiches, chopped salad, and chips. Wrapping a band around a water bottle creates decorative touch.

We also had ice cream sundaes for dessert...yum!

Each year we share two different make n takes for our downline to then re-create. This year Andrea and I both had water coloring on the brain, so our samples showed different ways with this technique.

She shared with us how to create a bokeh background using watercoloring and white ink.

We're busy at work creating our masterpieces!

Here is the final card. This was the first time I tried the bokeh background. I really liked it!

I have already shared the second make n take I created HERE. This particular card showed the watercolor wash technique using one of the (now retired) Sale-A-Bration sets.

I made each of the gals a fun little gift using the Baker's Box Thinlits Die (I have already posted more details HERE).

Andrea gave everyone these cute little bags filled with bath beads. She used the Polka Dot Cone Cellophane Bags new from the Occasions Catalog.

At our get togethers we also swap cards at the end!

We may be a small group (not all were able to make it), but it is always so fun to get together to share ideas, inspire each other, laugh, create, and just have FUN!

Christmas Swaps

On Tuesday we held a Stampin' Up! team meeting where we were able to talk "business", share motivation, catch up with what each of us our doing with events, enjoy pumpkin bars, listen to those who went to On Stage a couple of weekends ago, set goals, swap cards, and create a make n take. Ultimately we had the chance to just be together to motivate and support one another in our Stampin' Up! businesses...or as a hobby.

Always a favorite of our time together are the swaps! This time it was Christmas-themed.

We also had the chance to play with stamps with a make n take. My upline shared this awesome technique with us to create this beautiful card. I am SO SAD that Woodland Embossing Folder is retiring. It's a MUST HAVE, so snag it now before it's gone! It will retire January 4th.

Here's an up close to show you we added "glittery snow" to the trees and hill.

Stamping on the inside is always a fun addition.
Plus, it makes it easy just to sign your name and you're done! ;)

The swap card I brought will be posted soon...

...so come on back!

SSINK - Bohemian Birthday

We're sharing birthday cards today on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog! I have a fun one to show you that I created back in June for an "in-the-mail" swap I participated in when the new catalog came out. You'll recognize this "happy birthday" sentiment as I have shared it a time or two (or three) on the blog already. This is a new host set called Happy Birthday, Everyone. I just love it...can you tell?

I often will start a card for a swap and before I know it there seems to be a bazillion steps to it that I eventually have to repeat 20+ times! LOL! Can anyone relate? But in the end, I have to be happy with it ~ extra steps and all! I often don't have time to just sit down and knock it out all at once, so I end up taking it "on the go" and do a little mama multi-tasking. ;)

{Watching my little man play football and assembling swaps at the same time!}

This card highlights the new Bohemian Designer Series Paper. So many fun prints and I love the color combinations. I also added the background stamp from the set You've Got This. This stamp adds some visual to the background of the card instead of just leaving it plain. I added the new 1" Dotted Lace Trim in Delightful Dijon underneath the birthday sentiment. Probably the most difficult piece to this card was tying the Gold and Bermuda Bay Sequin trim together with a Linen Thread bow. Such itty bitty pieces for my hands!!

Control Freaks Convention Swap Cards

While at Convention I participated in a card swap with the Control Freak Stampers. This group is full of talented paper artists and it's always so much fun to swap with them. It's even more of a treat when we get to see each other IN PERSON like some of us were able to do this past week. We each swapped two card fronts and so I came away with 28 samples to share at my upcoming events! We pushed back our tour date to the end of the month so that those of us who went to Convention could share their swaps...and for those Control Freaks who couldn't make it they get to share whatever they want today! If you have been following along already you should have come from Wendy's blog at Wickedly Wonderful Creations. If you are just joining us, get ready for some stamping inspiration!

First up is a Christmas card I created using the Santa's Gifts stamp set from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog. It's never too early to get a jump on making Christmas cards, right? Some special touches I added to the card include the stars (included in the stamp set) in the top right corner which I stamped using the Versamark ink pad. I also used my Blender Pens and Real Red ink & Basic Gray ink to color in Santa's suit. I added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter with a 2-Way Glue Pen to the white parts of his suit (too bad you can't see this card in person...it really does sparkle!) Of course I felt like the card needed an itty bitty heart to go with the sentiment, so I punched one out using the Two-Step Owl Punch. The present is actually a separate stamp (included in the stamp set), so I stamped it on a piece of scrap paper, colored it with Mossy Meadow ink and a Blender Pen and then used my Paper Snips to cut out the intricate pieces. I then popped it up with some Dimensionals and placed it in Santa's hands. The striped paper is from the Christmas Designer Series Paper Pack called Merry Moments. I am SO HAPPY they are including Christmas items in the Annual Catalog again! The cardstock colors I used are Real Red, Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow, & Whisper White.

My next card I created uses another new stamp set from the Annual Catalog...actually a couple of new sets! The background is created using a new background stamp called Watercolor Wash. This stamp makes a beautiful background like it was painted with a brush. I stamped the background using Soft Sky ink to create an ocean look. The other new stamp set is called From Land to Sea. It has some beautiful images perfect for coloring. I couldn't resist using the turtle image for this card. I stamped the turtle in Black Stazon ink and then used my Blender Pens to color him with Sahara Sand and Old Olive. I also colored in the spots of the turtle with Soft Suede. I REALLY wish you could see the card in person because I added Crystal Effects to the turtle's shell. My kids loved that technique! It just gives it a fun, glossy look. After I let it dry (for a long time!), I cut out the turtle using my Paper Snips and then popped him up on Dimensionals. I stamped a quick "thank you greeting" (using another new set!) and added some Pearl Accents for the bubbles of the turtle breathing under water. Although this card is simple in design, there were many steps to pull it all together. Although I love how it turned out, if I were to do it any differently, I would probably use a "happy birthday" greeting instead. The cardstock colors I used are Sahara Sand, Night of Navy and Whisper White.

http://badabingcrafting.blogspot.com/I am so happy you came by today! I hope you will continue on the tour to see what other inspiring cards were created. The next stop is Mindy Backes at Bada-Bing Paper-Crafting.

Friday Favorites - Retiring Products

I think I'm having a flashback! Just last Friday I was shocked that another week had come and gone! I feel the same about this week, too! How can it already be May?!

All month long I hope to showcase some of my favorite retiring products because beginning June 2nd we'll have a new catalog to drool over! Yes, I am sad to see some great products go...but honestly, I am over-the-moon excited to see what's new! (Which, by the way...I got a sneak peek of the new catalog yesterday! YOU WILL LOVE IT!)

I hope to use many of my retiring stamp sets in my stash for my two card nights this month, as well as *maybe* getting to play with my stamps in my "free time" (ha! we'll see if that one will happen!)

A handful of the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration designers are sharing their favorite retiring items with you today in our Friday Favorites segment on our blog! Come over for a visit to see what others will be sad to see go!

I created this quick and easy card for my Stampin' Up! Team Meeting last Wednesday. We create swaps for one another and this time around our suggested theme was to play with some of the retiring stamp sets. I chose Starburst Sayings. I have to be honest here and say that mostly I am just going to miss the large image from this set, but nonetheless...I'll be sad to see the set go! (psssst...did you know this set is on sale right now? 15% off clear mount and 25% off wood mount!)

The Moonlight DSP Stack I used for the front two panels of each card will not be available in the new catalog, either, but all of the 2014-2016 In-Colors will! My samples use Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss, and Hello Honey. I'll keep these colors around for another year. ;)

One of the fun things about this card is that the belly band just slips right off to open the card. Use this "Oh, Happy Day" sentiment for anything...congratulations, birthday, exciting news, etc!

Friday Favorites - Love is Kindness

I recently participated in a card swap with some of my Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration gals and I used one of my FAVORITE stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog called Love is Kindness. This is a single stamp that is so perfect for using our Blendabilities markers. For this card I used the new Wild Wasabi and Pink Pirouette Blendabilities from the 2015 Occasions Catalog. I am learning to L-O-V-E my Blendabilities!!

You'll notice on the background of the card I am using the Polka Dot Embossing Folder. This is one of my FAVORITE embossing folders and until February 2nd you can get it for only $5.96!! Check out this embossing folder and others on our weekly deals HERE.

Here is an up close view of the Blendabilities in action. I used all three shades of Pink Pirouette and then went over each flower with the Color Lifter. I used the lightest shade of Wild Wasabi for the stems of each tulip and then alternated the shades for the leaves.

I added some dimension to the newspaper wrap around the stems by cutting out an extra (my FAVORITE Paper Snips did the job!) of just the newspaper and then popping it up with a Dimensional. I sporadically placed pearls all over the card for an added affect.

All 13 swaps ready to be mailed! It was a lot of coloring, but I actually enjoyed it!

control freaks holiday card swap

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to swap again with the Control Freaks! This time around we made 25 Christmas swaps using a stamp set we each chose from the Holiday Catalog. I decided to play with the Bright & Beautiful stamp set again to see what I could come up with. I made all of my swaps the same and in return I got 25 beautiful swaps showcasing various Christmas sets from the Holiday Catalog. I love, love, love opening the mail box to find "fun mail"!!

After much trial and error with my design, I finally settled on this and I actually love how it turned out! I ended up leaving off half of the sentiment and to do that I colored the stamp using Lost Lagoon marker.

I used the Heat & Stick with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter technique for the stamped star and then using the Star Framelits and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper created a "framed star" with a Rhinestone in the middle. Each star layer is popped up with Dimensionals.
