You may not be able to notice it very well, but the coral reef is white embossed.

card club - october 2012

OK, let's get back to blogging!! I have lots of fun cards and projects I've made over the last few weeks, but I'm just a little behind on sharing them with you all. Gotta get caught up before the Christmas season comes! So, here goes...

Last month for my Card Club, we made the following three cards. (The first two may look familiar as I have already shared them here on my blog.)

This first card I had created for a sketch challenge, as well as to have as a sample at my Holiday Catalog Open House in August. You can visit HERE for more details.

This next card I shared the day of Card Club. I had created it for a sketch challenge and decided to use it for one my Card Club cards. I let each of the guests choose which stamp they wanted out of the For The Birds set. Isn't this the cutest set?! For all the details of this card, visit HERE.

And, lastly I just had to pull out my Make a Cake stamp set again. And I just love these In-Colors!

for the birds

It's Card Club tonight! I am looking forward to stamping with this great group of ladies! And now that the weather has turned to its typical rainy ways here in Oregon, it's time to get all cozy indoors and enjoy some crafting time with friends.

This card is a sneak peek of one of the cards my club will be making tonight. I wanted to post it early because my sketch inspiration came from Freshly Made Sketches...

 Sweet and simple...

card club - September 2012

Summer is over and my clubs have started up again! This year I have two clubs running. One is a Big Shot Club and the other is a Card Club. Each club has 8 members and it runs for 8 months. I am really excited about both groups of ladies as everyone is so eager to learn and create! My Card Club meets on the Third Monday of the month. For September's cards, I also used these card designs for my card night I hold at my mother-in-law's every other month. It was great to be able to double up and not do twice the amount of work in planning out the cards.

The first card may look familiar. The inspiration came straight out of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog on pg. 190. I tweaked a few things to make it work for the amount of card kits I was making, as well as the different levels of experience.

Ink: Primrose Petals, Pool Party (for sponging edges of Framelit)

happy halloween googly ghouls

Today's card is the second card I created for my stamp club members. I wanted to give my gals a chance to use some of the new products from the Holiday Catalog since we weren't meeting this summer. The first card kit (using the Scentsational Season stamp set) can be found HERE.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Googly Ghouls stamp set! I don't make many cards for Halloween, but I knew that this set was going to be a fun one to play with, especially because of the new adhesive-backed googly eyes creatively called Googlies. I also love the Halloween paper called Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP.

Card Recipe
Stamp Set: Googly Ghouls (Holiday Catalog), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Basic Black, Basic Gray, More Mustard, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP
Ink: Black Staz-On, Tangerine Tango, More Mustard (inking around the edges)
Accessories: Dimensionals, Ghooglies, Sponges
Tools: Big Shot, Chevron Embossing Folder, Corner punch

Terry at Goin' Over the Edge is having a fun blog hop called The Great Pumpkin Blog Hop and so I joined in the fun...and you can, too!

freshly made scentsational season!

I put together a couple of card kits this weekend for my stamp club gals. Club ended in June for a summer break, but I wanted to give them a chance to see in person some of the new Holiday Mini Catalog goodies, which I love and would like one of everything, please!

I headed over to Freshly Made Sketches to help me with my inspiration and decided to rotate the sketch to fit the image I wanted to use. I love Freshly Made Sketches because I can always count on a clean sketch that fits my style perfectly!

Card Recipe
Stamp Set: Scentsational Season (Holiday Catalog), Sweet Essentials (new!)
Paper: Whisper White, Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Dimensionals, Pearl Accents, Dazzling Diamonds glitter
Tools: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Holiday Framelits, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Labels Collection Framelits

Tomorrow, I will share a Halloween card using the new Googly Ghouls stamp set, so come on back!

stamp club - may 2012

Fourth Friday stamp club last month was another fun night! We had a "pre-celebration" of the new catalog debuting and started the evening playing with the new In Colors!

 New Catalog Bookmarks

We also made a card showcasing the new In Colors and let the colors do the talking!

And thanks to Julie Davison and her creative inspiration, we made this cute tea bag holder. I loved her design, but I gave it my own personal touch by changing the colors along with a few other simple things. I added the hearts to look like steam coming out of the spout. Too fun!

We also made a telescoping card using Julie's tutorial. Can I take a minute and say how thankful I am for so many generous and awesome fellow demonstrators who share their talent with the rest of us?! Julie Davison is one of those gals! Thank you for helping to make crafting just a little bit easier and taking the stress off of coming up with fun projects on my own...just like this one!

Each month the two hostesses receive a paper & embellishment pack. Here is this month's gift...

At each club gathering, I also hand out a sketch to encourage each of the ladies to play with their new products! Here is last month's sketch (found on Clean & Simple Stamping).
My take on the sketch,

Here are the cards that some of the ladies created...

One more club to go before a summer break!
Everyone is so excited to order some fun new products from the NEW CATALOG!

stamp club - April 2012

I had some fun projects to share with the ladies for our April Stamp Club (I'm a little behind in posting...what's new?). Because the Summer Smooches promotion was still going on during that time, I decided to play with the up and coming Bright Blossoms stamp set and Summer Smooches DSP, as well as the new Petite Purse die.

Our first card was a simple one, but I wanted to focus on showing how to use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig (yep, that's what it's really called!). It is a stamp positioner that gives you the ability to place an image exactly where you want it. Perfect for perfectionists like me! (Can anyone relate?) Because the tulip flower is a separate stamp from the vase and stem/leaves, using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig is a great way to get it perfectly placed without making it look like the tulip bud was floating. I even used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for the sentiment "thanks" to make sure it was nice and straight, too. I liked the idea of a square card, so this one is 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 and will still fit in an envelope like the other cards I make (4-1/4 x 5-1/2).
Stamp Set: Bright Blossoms (coming soon in the NEW 2012-2013 catalog), Fabulous Phrases
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Summer Smooches DSP
(coming soon in the NEW 2012-2013 catalog)
Ink: markers - Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade, Real Red
Accessories: none
Tools: Scallop Dotted Ribbon Border punch, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig

The second project we made also used products from the Summer Smooches promotion and each of the club members made this cute little Petite Purse (a new Big Shot die coming up in the soon to be released catalog!!) When its say petite, it really means petite. I read on a fellow demonstrator's blog that you can fit 9 Hershey's Kisses in the purse...in case you wanted to know just how small it was. Wouldn't this be cute to hold a small pair of earrings? I used a piece of Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper for the top flap to give it some extra color and design.

Stamp Set: Tiny Tags
Paper: Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Summer Smooches DSP
(coming soon in the NEW 2012-2013 catalog)
Ink: markers - Island Indigo, Real Red
Accessories: 1/4" Daffodil Delight Grosgrain ribbon, Everyday Enchantment brads (from 2012 SAB), Sticky Strip
Tools: Paper Piercing Tool, Jewelry Tag punch

For our last project of the night, we made this twist-easel card. It really is a lot easier than it looks! The card is 4-1/4 x 8-1/2. Score in half and then score diagonally on one side. Fold the flap inward. You will need something to help prop the card open (note the flower). I wanted to use the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set since it will be retiring soon, along with the Butterfly punch! Gotta use those retiring products when I can! As a demonstrator it's harder to use the products for events when you're trying to stay current with the products.
Folded closed (fits in a normal envelope)...

Halfway open...
Open and tucked behind the flower to stay open and on display...

This month's club hostess gifts...

Each stamp club meeting I give the gals a sketch for them to work on sometime before the next meeting. The sketches I give them come from Clean & Simple Stamping.

Last month's sketch...

This is the card I created for the sketch.
(and actually used for a card night this past week...more details to come)

I thought it was so fun how Kim used the kite as the circle image in the sketch. She's so clever!
Kim - Sending a Smile or Two

The next two cards are both from Janice. I like how she moved the sketch "circle" to the other side here in the first card.

Terri created this great Mother's Day card using the sneak peek Summer Smooches DSP.
Terri - territerbear

I like this simple birthday card made by Danna. Love this stamp set!

Vicki (my mom) decided to flip the sketch. And she even used some of the products she got as last month's hostess!

Only two more stamp club meetings before we take a break for the busy summer months!
