Foxy Friends

Hello Stamping Friends!!

So...my 3 month (plus?) hiatus was unintentional, but actually really good for me! I spent a wonderful summer with the kids and didn't need to stress about feeling like I have to put something on the blog. Or that I had to create anything. With a regular schedule back in place, I feel motivated to start adding to my blog again. So here I am! :)

Have you seen the adorable stamp set called Foxy Friends? Oh, it's the cutest!! Can you just see all of the sweet animals you can make from this set? What's even better is that this set also comes as a bundle with the coordinating Fox Builder Punch. Save 10% by purchasing both of them together!

Over the past few months I have made some things using this set...

When the new catalog came out, I participated in a card swap with some fellow demonstrators. I actually had a really fun time creating this card, especially using the fun prints from the "A Little Foxy" DSP Stack.

This card is one from my June card making night (the month the new catalog goodies became available!) It is a CASE from Wendy Cranford..with a few of my own additions. You can see her card here. Don't you just love that sweet raccoon? Again...notice the DSP?

This summer I also had the pleasure of creating a baby shower invite for a family member. I thought these turned out so sweet!

And, just this last week I held my monthly card night for October and this was one of the card designs. The two cards below are basically the same thing with just a few differences in ribbon, sentiment, and enamel shapes.

For those of you who have still stuck around, I would love for you to say a little hello! Let me know if you have any specific questions on any of the products you see and I am happy to answer.

Also...don't forget that now through October 31st, Stampin' Up! is offering the Buy 3, Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper special. Visit my online store at heidiboos.stampinup.net (click on SHOP NOW) to take advantage of the sale!

Pinterest Inspired Sea Street

I don't know about you, but some days I just need a card design that I can CASE almost exactly because my creative juices have run dry. Where do I go for such a thing? Pinterest, of course! Today, over at the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog we are sharing what has PINspired us lately. It could literally be anything we see on Pinterest...a collage, color scheme, quote, etc.

A couple of weeks ago I was needing one more card to make at one of my card making nights and I wanted it to be quick and easy. I came across this card on Pinterest and pretty much said out loud, "It's perfect!"

{card by Brenda Keenan}
Quick and Easy Stampin' Up! card using the Sea Street stamp set and coordinating Maritime Designer Series Paper.

You'll see in my "version" that I kept the card pretty much just as is only adding a different card base and using a different sentiment. Many of the gals who made this card turned it into a Father's Day card. I am so happy to see that Sea Street will be around for another year in the catalog, but I am definitely going to miss the coordinating Maritime Designer Series Paper! The coordinating colors are Night of Navy, Real Red, and Coastal Cabana (sniff! sniff! does Coastal Cabana HAVE to leave us?!)

Oh, and good news! This DSP is part of the Weekly Deals (ends May 25th)!
Weekly Deal Price - $8.21
Regular Price - $10.95

ssink - two step stamping child's birthday card!

It's Technique Tuesday at the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog and I have a quick and easy card to showcase that technique. I used the Zoo Babies stamp set and wanted the bird to sit on the back of the rhinoceros. This is where the two-step stamping comes in. I first stamped the rhino and then the bird on top of him. The set I used was clear mount, but my perfectionistic ways wouldn't allow me just to "wing it", so I pulled out my trusty Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line the bird up just right!

Two little buddies hanging out together!

I used the Circle Card Thinlits, so the card swings open to reveal the second part of the birthday greeting on the back with just enough room for someone to sign their name.

I am also linking up this week for The Paper Players Clean & Simple Challenge featuring a child's birthday theme!! I think this would be the perfect card for a child's birthday!

three times the fun!

My good friend, Kim, hosted a 3/$5 card making workshop at her house on Thursday. I wanted to hold an event in February, but since our house is currently in the "packing" stages, she stepped up and said she'd be happy to have it at her house! We had an AWESOME turn out of 13 stampers with quite a few new ladies to Stampin' Up! It was super fun and Kim provided some really yummy appetizers. Thanks, Kim, for opening your home to everyone!

The first two cards, my upline, Andrea shared with me and I just had to make them and let others create them, too! The first one would be the perfect masculine card (I don't make a lot of those) and the next one is a perfect card for a kid's birthday.

This card uses the Four Square stamp set and Sweet Pea designer series paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog. It also uses the coordinating scalloped square punch, Taken with Teal CS, So Saffron CS, and Pumpkin Pie 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.

This card uses Bugs & Kisses...the cutest little stamp set! It is actually Kim's, but I borrowed it to use for her workshop. This card uses colors from the Bold Brights family, including Only Orange, Green Galore, and Tempting Turquoise.

This last card uses the Simply Said stamp set and I incorporated the Sale-A-Bration edge punch, Chocolate Chip satin ribbon from the Occasions Mini and Certainly Celery designer series paper. We used Dazzling Diamonds glitter for the flowered image and you should see it sparkle in real life!
I'm happy to answer any questions about any cards that I post...feel free to leave a comment if you have one!

kid birthday cards

Last night I hosted my monthly card making night. The theme for the evening was Kid-Friendly Birthday Cards in honor of Stampin' Up!'s JUST FOR KIDS campaign happening now through September. There's always a need for kid birthday cards, so the guests made 6 cards for $10 (3 card designs, 2 of each design). I had 3 tables set up and everyone moved from table to table creating each card.

I think everyone had a good time and they were excited to walk away stocked up for upcoming birthdays! I love having friends over to stamp, create, and have fun! Thanks for coming over to stamp, ladies!!

For the cards, I chose to use one stamp set called Pun Fun that I could use for all 3 cards. This is a great set that can especially be used for kids' cards!
