Card Making Night - May

On Monday night this past week, I held my 3 for $6 card night. I had three new stampers who had never been before and they really enjoyed it! I think I got them addicted already! *wink*

For this next card, I was inspired by a card I had seen HERE. I changed up the colors and made a few of my own touches, but I just love the bright colors and the way the party hats stand out!

Paper: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo

Ink: Melon Mambo, markers - Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo

Accessories: 5/8" Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain ribbon, Dimensionals

I just love this Father's Day that I found at Lesley's blog when I participated in a color challenge last week with the Paper Players. I switched up a few things by re-arranging the colors and adding an embossing folder, as well as adding some brads in the corners. I'm just a fan of clean and simple!

card night sneak peek!

Tonight is my final 3 for $6 card night before I take a break for the summer. I have other Stampin' Up! events planned for each month, but my normal "once a month card night" will be on hiatus.

I wanted to share a sneak peek of one of the cards we will be making. It was inspired by a couple of challenges. One being the color challenge over at the Color Dare (CD100). The colors we were encouraged to play with were Baja Breeze, Rose Red, and Sahara Sand. I thought it was a tough color combo to work with, especially adding in Sahara Sand, but I really do like the finished product!

The sketch for this card came from Stamping 411 (Challenge 203)...

"orange" you sweet!

I had the opportunity to make a couple of fun gifts this past weekend. My MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group was meeting for the last time on Monday and I since I am a small group leader, I wanted to give each of the moms a little treat! I had such a blast putting together this "orange you sweet" tin of goodies using the Tart & Tangy stamp set.

{3x3 gift card...do you see the Dazzling Diamonds glitter?}

{gum wrapper}
Cut: 3 1/4 x 5 1/2
Score: 1 10/16, 2 1/16, 4 2/16, 4 9/16
*gum wrapper should slide on and off*

{Tic Tacs cover}

{I also included some orange slices and
orange-flavored Crystal Light packets}

They were a hit with my group...I'm glad I could make them smile!

Over the weekend I also put together some treat bags to give to the childcare workers that watch our children during our monthly MOPS meetings. I was happy to help out and to give a little thank you! Inside of the bag were bite size Snickers (Easter clearance...shh! Don't tell! *wink*) I used Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, and Perfect Plum for colors. I also used the Apple Blossoms Hostess Level 2 Stamp Set with the "thank you" from Teeny Tiny Wishes. If you'd like to make your own 2-5-7-10 box HERE is the link for the directions at Splitcoast Stampers. I made 15 of them, so I'm glad they were easy!

{I am kind of bummed about the photo quality...believe it or not I took this picture in the bathroom hoping to have a little brighter light to bring out the colors. Guess that didn't work so well.}

3/$5 Card Making Night - October

Last Thursday was October's 3/$5 card night. There was a great turn out of 10 ladies and some of them were first timers...I love having new attendees at my events! It was great to spend the evening with such a great group of women!

The layout of this first card was inspired by something I saw on Stampin' Connection, a website just for Stampin' Up! demonstrators. I loved the colors of this card that made it pop and added my own little touch on it. It morphed into something a little different than what I started out, but I love it!

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes (sentiment)

Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Basic Black, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip

Ink: Pumpkin Pie (to ink around the edges of pumpkin), Basic Black

Accessories: retired black gingham ribbon, wide oval punch, 2-step bird punch (for leaves), polka dot embossing folder (used with Big Shot), dimensionals

This next card I created out of trial and error...it is definitely a GIRLY card!!

Stamp Sets: Birthday Bliss

Paper: Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Sweet Pea DSP (retired)

Ink: markers - Melon Mambo & Old Olive (used with sentiment)

Accessories: pink satin ribbon, dotted scalloped ribbon border punch, fancy flower x-large punch. 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, glue dots, dimensionals

I CASEd this card from HERE. Although I changed the ribbon and didn't add the pearls on the scallop border like it shows in the card I copied, I pretty much loved it as is...colors and all!

Paper: Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White

Ink: Old Olive, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie

On Saturday, I attended my first ever Stampin' Up! Regional. This year it was being held in Portland at the Convention Center, which is a short 45 minute drive away, so I definitely made it happen for me to go! It was fabulous and I was truly inspired by so many things that were shared at this event. I didn't win any free stamps, but the make n takes were fun, and I spent the day with some fun ladies at our table. Oh, and I got to meet Shelli for the first time!! I felt like I was a groupie or something wanting to get my picture taken with her.
