Christmas spectacular - part two

Continuing on with sharing about the Christmas event at my mother-in-law's...

Part One can be found HERE.

In addition to making three Christmas cards, each of the guests had the option to also make four Christmas treat holders. My mother-in-law and her friend who was co-hosting decided together which ones they wanted to make, so some of the projects are "repeaters" from things you have probably already seen on my blog.

Hershey Fun Size Treat Holder

Ghiradelli Chocolate Holder

Hershey's Nugget Tray

Hot Chocolate Holder

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Christmas spectacular - part one

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of holding a "Christmas Spectacular" event at my mother-in-law's home. I hold card making nights at her home every other month on a weeknight for her and her friends and we had decided that, for this month, we would try a Saturday event and make more than just cards! I prepared all of the supplies for each guest to make 3 Christmas cards and 4 Christmas treat projects. They could either come make just the projects, just the cards, or both! We had such a great time!! I think this was my most fun event I have had with these ladies. There were 24 eager stampers who had a great time and many of them were newcomers! I was so incredibly thankful that my mom was able to come with me as my "stamping assistant" for the day. I consider her my demo in training...maybe one day she'll sign up for the starter kit! ;)

{Christmas Cards}

Christmas Card #1
{inspired by a card I had designed for my Catalog Open House in August}
One of the biggest changes I made was I had the gals emboss the candy canes with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder. I thought it would be a fun change from just using a regular ink pad.
Card Recipe
Stamp Set: Scentsational Season, Joyous Celebration
Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Snow Festival DSP
Ink: Versarmark, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Dimensionals, Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Mini Glue Dots
Tools: Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Labels Collection Framelits, Holiday Collection Framelits

Christmas Card #2
This was another card I had on display at my Holiday Catalog Open House in August. It was a CASE from Jill Hilliard. Visit HERE for my original post.

Christmas Card #3
I'm kind of bummed the picture looks a bit washed out...it really does look sparkly in person! I had pinned THIS CARD on Pinterest by Michelle Le Breton and fell in love with the simple design. I decided to change it up a little bit and add some extra sparkle by "glittering" up the ornament using Heat & Stick Powder and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Each of the guests were able to choose their own Christmas sentiment from the set More Merry Messages and stamp it on the inside.

Up close version of the sparkle...
 Card Recipe
Stamp Set: Ornament Keepsakes, More Merry Messages (for inside sentiment)
Paper: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, 3/8" White Taffeta, Rhinestone Accents
Tools: Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Holiday Ornament Framelits, Boho Blossoms punch, 3/4" Circle punch, Holiday Frame Embossing Folder

More to come...I will be sharing the four projects we made at this event, too!

soccer stars

I thought I would take a quick break from posting Christmas projects (more to come...don't worry!) and share the thank you cards I made for my daughter's soccer coaches a couple of weeks ago. The name of their soccer team was Soccer Stars, so I figured this card design was the perfect fit for the name!

I really wish you could see this card in person because it does have a lot of extra pizzazz!
  • Each of the soccer balls are embossed in black so they are glossy.  Two of them are popped up with Dimensionals.
  • The small stars are punched out of Silver Glimmer Paper. LOVE this paper...it's so gorgeous in person!
  • The background has a light spray of Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.

I am happy to answer any questions...just leave a comment below!

big shot club - october 2012

For last month's Big Shot Club I just couldn't help but go CHRISTMAS with our projects! We won't be meeting in December, so I wanted to be sure to get in two month's worth of Christmas so I had to start early! Each month for my Big Shot Club, we make two projects and one card with the sole focus being products that are used with the Big Shot.

Project #1
Ghiradelli Chocolate Holder
Big Shot Products: Scallop Envelope Die & Holiday Framelits

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Project #2
Santa Candy Pouch
{the original idea I found HERE on Marie's Stamping Inspirations blog, but instead of this project holding Hershey's Nuggets (like hers shows), I decided to turn it the other way and then added a plastic baggie inside filled with candy}
 Big Shot Products: Top Note Die

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *
 Project #3
3D Ornament Card
{This card was inspired by a card I had pinned HERE, created by Laurie Zoellmer. I decided to make one of the ornaments 3D to add something fun to the card!}
Big Shot Products: Holiday Ornament Framelits

If you have any questions on any of the projects you see here, simply leave a comment below or send an email to stuckonstampin@gmail.com. I'm happy to help!

This next card I shared the day of Card Club. I had created it for a sketch challenge and decided to use it for one my Card Club cards. I let each of the guests choose which stamp they wanted out of the For The Birds set. Isn't this the cutest set?! For all the details of this card, visit HERE.

And, lastly I just had to pull out my Make a Cake stamp set again. And I just love these In-Colors!

treats for Halloween

A week ago (the Friday before Halloween) I held a treat holders class at my home. I had the projects planned for quite awhile, but the timing just never worked out for earlier in the month, so it ended up being a little last minute...with just less than a week to get the word out! The class ended up being a group of three moms and their sweet little Kindergarten daughters, so it turned into a mommy-daughter class just by chance, but it was so fun! Each of the guests were able to choose which projects they wanted to create and how many of each...kind of like a buffet!

 Tammy & her daughter Maya
  Amanda Sue & her daughter Audrey
 Emily & her daughter Moorea
(She really was having a good time...I'm sure she just didn't want her picture taken from a stranger!)
 Busy at work!!
 Great work, Audrey!
 Mikayla (my daughter) was so happy she got to join in the fun, too!

More Halloween treats to share!

Candy packets for Mikayla's classmates...
  ...attached to Crazy Straws!
 Mikayla's class party theme was spiders. Just thought this was a fun little gift in place of a goody bag.

I decided to whip these out the night before Halloween for my son's preschool classmates. They were pretty easy to put together!

I used the pennant punch and punched each section in the three candy corn colors. The "Treats for Boo" is from the hostess set Mixed Medley from the 2012 Holiday Catalog.

Hope each of you had a fun Halloween! We had a great time as a family and I was exhausted from a super busy day of festivities!
