SS Inkspiration - August Scrapbook Sketch (puppy love)
It's a fun Monday morning because I get to share with you a scrapbook page I created using the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration August Scrapbook Sketch. Let me start with saying that it has been A LONG time since I've done any scrapbooking!! I used to scrapbook quite often when the kids were little, but for some reason it got a little too overwhelming with trying to keep up, so it kind of fizzled out and I have since stuck with mostly cards. But when the opportunity arose for me to participate in this month's scrapbook sketch, I went for it! I must say this little taste got me excited to do it again.
This month's sketch was created by one of our design team members Jennifer Campbell. Each of us were inspired to use this sketch as a starting point and create something that would pop off the page. I knew instantly which pictures I was going to choose! This is my daughter with her cousins' puppy last summer. She LOVES dogs so much and it is such a joy to watch her interact. These pictures just melted my heart and was almost enough to break me down to get her her own dog...almost.

hip hip hooray (FMS99)
It's a late Sunday night post, but I couldn't help but join in the fun over at Freshly Made Sketches with this week's clean and simple sketch. I don't know if you have caught on yet here on my blog for those who visit on a regular basis, but I am a BIG FAN of clean and simple. It helps me feel confident in making cards in a quick and easy way to get them in the mail (and sometimes without having to pay extra postage...LOL!) I specifically had someone in mind when I started making this card. A friend of mine and her family have been on a long journey of trying to sell their home and after many, many trials it finally happened and I was so excited to be able to celebrate with her! So, this calls for a card that says hip-hip-hooray...you've finally reached this day!!
Each pinwheel is "jumping" off the page...and oh how I love the new candy dots!

love story polaroid
I am attending a wedding today of a former student of mine from back when I taught 5th grade! I'm guessing probably 10 years ago?! Now if that doesn't make me feel a little old...
I wanted to create for the bride and groom a one of a kind card for their special day, so I grabbed my Color Coach (#130118 / $14.95) to help give me some ideas. The Color Coach is useful during those times you just need a little extra help in coming up with colors that look good together. Don't forget you'll need to purchase the In-Color cards separately!! (2012-2014: #130119 / $2.50, 2013-2015: #130120 / $2.50) I flipped the pages until I came to the combo Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple, and Perfect Plum and decided to go for it!
Using the Versamark pad, I stamped the background with my current favorite background stamp Positively Chevron and then embossed using Iridescent Ice embossing powder (see the sparkle there on the top right of the card?) The "Polaroid" frame was made using the new Squares Collection Framelits...which I just got in my box of goodies this week! I saw the "Polaroid" as a demonstration at Convention and was excited to try one of my own. On the inside of the card is stamped the second part of the greeting: "Wishing you a lifetime of HAPPINESS".

photopolymer & single stamps!
If you haven't yet heard, Stampin' Up! is now offering not only wood-mount and clear-mount stamps, but they have been offering photopolymer stamp sets, as well! Just yesterday they announced the newest set in this line called "Another Thank You". Don't you just LOVE it?! I can't wait to add this to my next order! I am a big fan of sending off thank you notes (my mama raised me right!), and this set really does cover a lot of styles to please. Click on the photo below to view larger in PDF format.
{Another Thank You}
#133454 // $13.95
What makes Photopolymer Stamps so great?
- They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
- They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
- Can you say sticky? (Don't worry; in a good way.) These stamps sticks amazingly well to our clear blocks.
- They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
- We could go on, but we'll let you try them for yourself.
*click on each one listed below to see a full PDF flyer
Settin' Sail - # 133453 // $13.95

And, if adding a new stamp set wasn't exciting enough, how about adding MORE SINGLE STAMPS!! A new, holiday collection of single stamps is now available for purchase!
- There are 8 different single stamps to choose from...6 of which coordinate with Framelits dies or punches.
- These stamps are available in clear mount only.
- They will be packaged in a cello bag.

wildflower meadow
We had our team meeting last week and each of the team members who attended were encouraged to bring swap cards. One of the cards I got that night really caught my eye because I have been debating whether or not to get the stamp set and coordinating embossing folder she used. Let's just say...when I saw it, I knew this bundle was going on my next order ASAP! The card was created by my friend and one of my downline Tami Gaumer. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the Wildflower Meadow embossing folder is lined up with the Wildflower Meadow background stamp giving it that extra wow factor. It's so pretty!!
Here is another card using the same bundle. This picture I took while I was at Convention. It was on the display board and later came to find out it is also on pg. 83 of the Annual Catalog. It's funny how sometimes you pass something by until you actually see it in person! I love the sparkled embossed background with the one fussy cut flower and stem...finished off perfectly with a pearl, of course!

My recent order is currently on its way, but in the meantime I think I might try to go on a search for some more samples of this beautiful stamp and coordinating embossing folder so I'm armed and ready to go once I get to play with it. I just love how this stamp really can make a card all on its own! {Find me on Pinterest if you want to see some of the samples I find!}

SS Inkspiration Card Sketch - for the birds!
What fun it is for me to announce a new adventure for myself and some
fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators as just last week we launched a new
blog together! Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration
will be filled with lots of inspiration as we share with you 5 days a
week! Each of the design team will be popping up throughout each month
to share with you some of the fun we have in our craft rooms! To follow
our new blog, click on the picture below! We will continue to have our
monthly blog hop, as well, so keep looking for that on the second
Thursday of each month!
Today's post from Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration consists of a Card Sketch created by one of our design team members, Breelin Renwick. I knew we were open to playing with the blank space and adding whatever we wanted to the background, but I kept seeing WHITE SPACE and in all honesty...I love a card with white space, so I kept it with just that.
This card was made specifically for the consignors of my recent Craft Cleanout Sale that I hosted in July. I just placed their Stampin' Up! order last week and all of their new goodies should be here by Tuesday! I thought I would stick one of these cards in each of their bags to let them know how much I appreciate their support in joining me for the third year in this annual sale that just keeps getting better and bigger!
I started with the uber-adorable stamp set For the Birds and stamped the image in Black Stazon because I knew I wanted to use the Blender Pens to create a softer look and didn't want the black to bleed. I "squeezed" the ink pad while the lid was closed and then using the blender pen, I "grabbed" the ink from the top of the lid and colored away. Blender pens come in packs of three and they are two-sided. These last a long time! You can always wipe off the ink color you used by writing on a piece of paper until the ink color disappears and they are good to go for the next color!
Black Stazon ink is best for most every surface and is perfect for watercoloring. The thing about Black Stazon ink is that it "stains" your rubber. However, in my experience I haven't noticed this to effect the stamped image if there is black on the rubber. I don't always clean the stazon after every use, but if you do like to have clean rubber stamps at all times, the Stazon Cleaner (#109196 / $4.95) is a must have! Roll the cleaner right onto the stamp until you begin to see the black juice up. Wipe off onto the Stampin' Scrub (#126200 / $16.95) and voila - your stamp looks brand new again!!
