downline swaps!

Last Saturday we held our team meeting. We try to get together once every two or three months to check in with each other, talk business, create a make n take, have some yummy food, and motivate one another. We usually have a card swap, too! I wanted to share with you some of the fun cards we exchanged. Mine is missing from the bunch because I just couldn't pull one together in time (seriously...the month of April is definitely getting the better of me!), but I promised the ladies I would send one in the mail to each of them!

fresh prints - three in a row (ssink card sketch!)

Say it ain't so?! Have I really gone 16 days without posting a thing? April has become quite the busy month and I'm afraid that if I blink it will be May already!

I have my monthly card night coming up on Thursday where I open up my home to my stamp club gals, as well as any other card makers who want to join us! The cost is $10 for 4 cards and we usually have a packed house of 15-20 stampers!

I wanted to share with you one of the card designs we'll be making. Yes, it's super simple but I usually make one card that they see can be put together in a snap...giving them confidence to re-create it at home!

They will get to choose their background DSP using the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack from the 2014 Occasions Catalog. That little paper stack is full of great patterns! They will also get to choose their sentiment and I will have a few ribbons to choose from, as well. Don't mind the retired ribbon on each of these cards...you have to use it up sometime, right?! *wink*

friday favorites - eggstra spectacular easter treats!

It's Friday Favorites at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration and I have a fun favorite to share with you today. With Easter fast approaching I always get excited about making some little treats to pass along to loved ones, teachers, neighbors, etc. This cute little stamp set called Eggstra Spectacular caught my eye in the 2014 Occasions Catalog.

I put together a couple of sweet and simple tags for Easter treats!

hello kitty birthday card

My niece had her 4th birthday last Sunday and my daughter wanted to make her a special card to go with the Hello Kitty items she had bought her (with her own money!). So we got on Google search and found this simple card by Andi Potler.

She used the 3/4" Circle Punch for the two black eyes.

And the Small Oval Punch for the yellow nose. 

Using the Paper Trimmer, she cut some strips of paper to make the whiskers and the bow was created using a retired Butterly Punch with a 3/4" Circle Punch on top and finished off with one of our large rhinestones.

sweet sorbet tri-fold card

The 4th card we created during March's card making night used some of the beautiful DSP from the Sale-A-Bration brochure called Sweet Sorbet. I just love the color combination!! I wanted to create something a little different, so I made a tri-fold card. Cardstock is cut 4-1/4" x 11" and then scored at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2". The first flap is folded back and then folded in half on the second fold line.

the perfect blend

Today's card is another one we made at last Tuesday's card making night. I just recently purchased this fun stamp set called Perfect Blend ($10.95, clear mount / $13.95, wood mount). It has been on my list for awhile now, so I was happy to put it to use.right away when I got it. It's such a simple set, but who doesn't love a fun coffee card...especially one you could slip a Starbucks gift card into for a friend's birthday?

Each of the coffee cups are stamped on Whisper White and then cut out with Paper Snips (love those scissors!) I stamped the middle "coffee sleeve" separately onto a piece of DSP and then cut it out (again with my awesome Paper Snips) and adhered it to the coffee cup with SNAIL. It makes such a fun touch! Also the "coffee splatters" are created using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.

Eek! Has it really been 8 days since I last posted?! I guess time flies when you're having fun...or maybe when the sun starts coming out and there's more time to play outside!

Last Tuesday I held my monthly card making night. It was a FABULOUS turn out! I had 17 gals and for 4 of them it was their first time.

I saw THIS CARD on Pinterest and just knew it would be a fun one to recreate. I made it a little simpler so that it would be an easy one to reproduce for all levels of stampers at my card night.

I love this "hello" sentiment for so many reasons, but mostly because it makes this card one that you can send to someone simply to brighten their day by saying HELLO.
