a collection of favorites

I have decided to apply to be considered as a Display Stamper for this year's annual Stampin' Up! Convention coming up in July. I am so excited to be attending my second Convention this year and the icing on the cake is that I will also be celebrating 5 years with Stampin' Up! Convention is bursting with creative inspiration and I came away last year feeling motivated and inspired ~ the best feeling! The display boards have some amazing works of art and so I thought I could build my stamping confidence by applying to become a Display Stamper myself! It would be such an honor to even be considered!

For those who were interested in applying as a Display Stamper, we were asked to showcase three cards, one scrapbook page, and two 3-D items. I have collected some favorites to share together all in one post. It was actually really hard to narrow it down, but hopefully I am showcasing my clean and simple style. Feel free to click on the link above each card if you would like to see more details.

{I created this card for an Occasions Catalog Card Swap.}

{This is one of four banner cards I created using one layout. Click HERE for more samples!}

{A fun layout I created for the design team I am a part of!}

{Who doesn't love altering the Purse Bigz Die!}

{Mini pizza box I created for a monthly blog hop during Sale-A-Bration! I showcased a bundle of products that would sell for $50 to earn a free SAB item! Click HERE for more!}

Thanks so much for stopping by...happy stamping!!

catalog case - for the birds

Today at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration we are showcasing cards that are a catalog CASE. I found this particular card layout in the Occasions Catalog on pg. 15. I needed an easy layout for the fourth card at my card making night and I thought this would be a fun one to use! However, I knew I needed to make it simpler and the DSP needed to stretch a little further, but I loved the idea of the scalloped tag with the new tag topper punch! And the chevron on the top and bottom of the card was just too cute!

 And, here is my take on the card. I used the Watercolor Wonder DSP for the yellow middle piece. The stampers were able to choose between green and blue chevron, so I created a sample of each.

The ribbon I used is retired Daffodil Delight grosgrain ribbon, but I found you a replacement if you were thinking about re-creating the card! It's the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding.

Stamp Sets
For the Birds, Six-Sided Sampler (sentiment)
Ink
Blender Pens, Island Indigo, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray, Calypso Coral
Paper
Whisper White, Watercolor Wonder DSP
Accessories
SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Basic Pearls, White Baker's Twine, 1/2" Daffodil Delight Grosgrain Ribbon

I recently used two stamp sets from the retiring list (although I didn't know they were retiring at the time!) and wanted to share with you the card we created.

{Simply Stars}

{Off the Grid single stamp}

My card was inspired by Amy O'Neill and very closely a complete CASE. In Amy's card she had added some candy dots and a cute clip arrow, but to make it more "card night friendly" I had to take those embellishments away. You should definitely check out her version!

retiring stamp sets & accessories + FREE SHIPPING!

It's that time of year again where it's time to say goodbye to many retiring stamp sets and accessories as we get ready for the launch of the new catalog in June! Although it's always sad to say goodbye to many of our favorites, it's also exciting to see what is sticking around for another year! I hope you'll take a moment to check out the retiring list of stamp sets and accessories (see below for links to PDFs for each list) to see what will be going away soon. All items are "while supplies last" and I can already say that some things have sold out!! EEK! So, don't wait too long to order, which that might not be too hard to wait because for 5 days only Stampin' Up! is offering...

a CASE of a CASE of a CASE!

To CASE = Copy And Share Everything

Last Thursday was card making night and I needed a quick and simple card that was easily reproducible for a big group of stampers! My sister had brought a card to our downline meeting as her swap card and I recognized it from a version my demonstrator friend and fellow SSINK designer Kim Ryden had shared on her blog a couple of weeks prior. So my card became a CASE of a CASE of a CASE! Here I have shown you the progression of the cards. The last one is the card we made at card night. I had to change the candy dots to rhinestones since there were 17 card makers...and not enough candy dots!

{candy dots with brad bases}

{just a few candy dots...no brad bases}

{no candy dots, just rhinestones}

So thankful for inspiration when you feel like you've hit a wall!

Happy Stamping friends!

downline swaps!

Last Saturday we held our team meeting. We try to get together once every two or three months to check in with each other, talk business, create a make n take, have some yummy food, and motivate one another. We usually have a card swap, too! I wanted to share with you some of the fun cards we exchanged. Mine is missing from the bunch because I just couldn't pull one together in time (seriously...the month of April is definitely getting the better of me!), but I promised the ladies I would send one in the mail to each of them!

Let me know if you have any questions!

fresh prints - three in a row (ssink card sketch!)

Say it ain't so?! Have I really gone 16 days without posting a thing? April has become quite the busy month and I'm afraid that if I blink it will be May already!

I have my monthly card night coming up on Thursday where I open up my home to my stamp club gals, as well as any other card makers who want to join us! The cost is $10 for 4 cards and we usually have a packed house of 15-20 stampers!

I wanted to share with you one of the card designs we'll be making. Yes, it's super simple but I usually make one card that they see can be put together in a snap...giving them confidence to re-create it at home!

They will get to choose their background DSP using the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack from the 2014 Occasions Catalog. That little paper stack is full of great patterns! They will also get to choose their sentiment and I will have a few ribbons to choose from, as well. Don't mind the retired ribbon on each of these cards...you have to use it up sometime, right?! *wink*

Come on over and join in the fun by linking up your card using this sketch. The linky is open until April 28th at noon so you have plenty of time to create!
