final two projects in August...on CPC!

Can you believe that the end of August is tomorrow?! Summer just flew by in a flash and I'm sure you can all agree with me on that! My "baby" girl starts Kindergarten next Thursday and I'm a little bit in denial with it all.

I have two final projects to share with you for this month on Craft Project Central. I had such a wonderful time being a guest designer again for the month of August. It's so fun to "be around" other inspiring crafters! If you want to subscribe to the month of August (or any month over the last year) for only $10 per month, head on over right now!

This first project is super cute for that "princess" in your family! This beautiful Princess Party Ensemble would be any little girl's dream! This project includes instructions and templates for invitations, favors, drink wraps, decorated cupcake holder, crown, tiara, wand, and party banner! This sweet project is designed and created by Sandra at Stamper on the Shore.

The last project for this month is this beautiful Vintage Paper Bag Album designed and created by Kristyne at Big Scrapping Deal. Vintage is really all the rage right now! This pretty little vintage album is perfect to put your photos in or give to a friend! This project would also make a great scrapbooking class.

Array of Sunshine Box & Note Cards

As a special thank you, Craft Project Central has TWO bonus projects for us this month!! The first bonus project just so happens to be mine!! *wink* The second bonus project was created by Laurie at Laurie's Stampin' Spot. Wouldn't this cute little gift box with coordinating cards make a wonderful gift?! And once all the cards are used, it is the perfect holder for post-it notes! This would also be a great project for a class or for stamp club!

Teacher's Desk with Notepad & Candy

It's back to school time!! And how adorable is this next project? It is a school teacher's desk with mini post it notes on the top! It even comes with a handy little pencil to jot down notes. And, when you pull out the drawers...guess what's inside? Chocolate! You could also change up the theme and give it to your co-worker, filling the drawers with tiny office supplies like rubberbands, paperclips, push pins, etc. This project was designed and created by Chris at Creations by Chris.

If you don't need a gift for a baby, just change up the colors and theme, and you'll have the perfect gift holder for a birthday, anniversary, or even Christmas gift! This quick and easy gift box would also make a great stamp club project! This super sweet project was created by Naoko at Stampage.

My own creation on CPC...Teacher Survival Kit & BLOG CANDY!

It's time!! I finally get to share the project I created for Craft Project Central this month! I really wanted to come up with something that my daughter could give to her new teacher on her first day of Kindergarten to help kick off the year on a positive note and I came up with this "Teacher Survival Kit" box. The matching card is a great addition in helping your child’s teacher feel encouraged as they begin a new year. As a former teacher, I would have loved a little something like this to make me feel special on my first day! This little box would also be fun to fill with other little goodies, like different kinds of candy…making it the perfect sweet treat! The detailed step-by-step tutorial includes directions for creating the box, lid (created out of a window sheet), and inserts used as "dividers" for all the little goodies. It also includes a description/meaning behind each little item included in this "teacher's survival kit".

My creation is this month's BONUS project on Craft Project Central. All you need to do is subscribe to August (only $10 a month for 10 tutorials!) and meet one of the other bonus project requirements of either "subscribing to two or more months in a row, putting our badge/blinkie on your blog, or referring a friend and letting us know when they subscribe!"

And, guess what?

I'm giving away a FREE AUGUST SUBSCRIPTION to Craft Project Central to one lucky winner! All you need to do is leave a comment for each of the following three chances to win:

1) Leave a comment on this post before Thursday, August 25th sharing your favorite "back to school" tip, moment, tradition, excitement, etc.

2) You will get one extra entry, if you find another post that inspires you on this blog and leave a comment there. No need to come back to this post to tell me that you did that. I'll keep track.

3) Want ONE MORE chance to win? "Follow" my blog by adding your name to the left hand column under "Members" and click on "Join this Site". If you are already a follower, just leave me a comment. If you're new and just began following, leave me a comment, too. I will add wither one as an extra entry!

A random winner will be announced next Friday, August 26th!

Beach Scene Magnet Board...on CPC!

Yay! I have another Craft Project Central project to share with you today! This beach scene magnet board is designed and created by Anjii at Coffeee Table Crafter. Doesn't this look like something that would be perfect for an office or dorm room? This magnet board is the perfect place to put all of those summer memories!! I've taken a peek at the instructions and it was fun to see the details in how each of the layers were made. And, I don't know if you can notice in the picture, but the border is made from ribbon! Too fun!!

Find all of the details on how to make this magnet board, as well as 9 other complete tutorials when you subscribe to August at Craft Project Central!

I finally made cards!

Surprise, surprise...I actually made some cards! Tuesday night was my first 3 for $6 card night since June! I took a break this summer from my monthly card nights knowing that it was going to be super busy for our family. However, I still kept on the calendar the card nights that I have been doing at my mother-in-law's house with her and her friends every other month. It was a great turn out and I saw many new faces! I hope to start up my monthly card nights at my home again in September.

I just love the new Petite Pennants Builder Punch!

Now I don't have to hand cut out all those triangles to make cute banners like these...

Stamp Set: Happy Everything (retired)

Paper: Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Whisper White, Bold Brights DSP

Ink: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise

Accessories: Dimensionals, White Gel Pen

Tools: Petite Pennants Builder punch, Punch Pack (flower)

I recently purchased a pack of the Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper and love it! It uses a lot of the new in-colors...Coral Calypso, Wisteria Wonder, & Lucky Limeade. Right now Stampin' Up! is having a promotion during the month of August...buy 3 packs of DSP and get 1 free! Read all about it and take a look at some of the designs HERE!

Stamp Set: Fruit & Flowers (matches the Berry Blossoms DSP), On Your Birthday (one of my most favorite sets for birthday sentiments!!)

Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Berry Blossoms DSP

Ink: markers - Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Coral Calypso

Accessories: Coral Calypso 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon (love this new ribbon!!)

Tools: N/A

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

When using a dark colored card base, add a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White card stock to the inside for a place to write your handwritten message. As you can "kind of" see I added a flower image on the bottom right on the inside to go with the flow of the card.

Stamp Set: Pocket Silhouettes, Delightful Dozen (Get Well Soon sentiment)

Paper: Soft Suede, So Saffron, Regal Rose

Ink: Soft Suede, So Saffron, Regal Rose

Accessories: Dimensionals, Pearl Accents

Tools: Eyelet Border punch, 1/2" Circle punch, Punch Pack (mini circle), Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

And in conclusion ~ how adorable is this card that my 5 1/2-year old daughter made for her great grandma who just had surgery. She found my "reject" of the flowered stamping in the recycling and went to work on re-creating the card I had made (above). She sure does love to craft with her momma...and I am so proud of her! (Before you think she's a punching genius, I did punch out the eyelet border for her!)
