fabulous florets trifold card holder...on CPC

Another fun project to share with you from Craft Project Central...

Make this pretty little trifold card holder, give it to a friend and tell her once she uses the cards inside, so make more and pass it along to another friend! And so on, a kind of "pay-it-forward" gift! What could be more fun than that? This is a fun and easy project that is a great gift, as mentioned, and is also a great class or club project!

more Craft Project Central projects...and some winners!

Last week was a busy week for me! I had a 3 for $6 card night on Tuesday. The next day, the family and I headed up North a couple of hours and took a trip to Great Wolf Lodge, a hotel with a HUGE water park. It was such a blast!! We got back on Thursday night and I went straight to work preparing for my Farewell Fiesta Stampin' Event on Friday night. Then came a busy Saturday and even busier Sunday with Father's Day! I've taken the last few days to just unwind and get things done around the house and play with the kids a little (in the SUN - yes, we finally got sun on Tuesday!). Which means over the last few days not a lot of stamping has been done!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I do, however, have a couple more projects to share with you from Craft Project Central. Don't forget that every month you subscribe to for only $10, you are receiving 10 full tutorials with pictures, step by step instructions, and a complete supply list. Each of these projects are created with Stampin' Up! only products, which would be great for a stamp camp or club.

Here is part two of the Fabulous Florets Wedding Ensemble (click here for part one). This project includes instructions and templates for the table tent, menu card, place card, favor box, and thank you card! This great project can easily be altered for other party themes like birthdays, showers, Thanksgiving, etc.!

{this project is designed and created by Sonya at Paper Creations}

Here is a cute little "planting party" birthday invitation and favor box. This is a cute idea for a boy (or girls) birthday party. It would also be cute for a garden party or as a gift for someone who loves gardening! Project includes instructions and templates for the invitation and favor!

farewell fiesta card night!

Friday night I co-hosted a Farewell Fiesta card making event with my upline Andrea...6 cards for $12. Each of the six cards featured mostly retiring stamp sets and accessories. I was responsible for designing and preparing three of the cards and Andrea was responsible for the other three. We wanted to be able to ink up some of our retiring stamp sets before we say "adios" to many of them! We held a door prize drawing every 1/2 hour and had lots of retiring or long-retired products to buy and many Fiesta-themed goodies to eat...and margaritas! LOVE these colors together!!

I'll be back to update with all of the details after tonight's event!

3 for $6 Card Making Night - June

On Tuesday night I traveled to my mother-in-law's home and held a 3 for $6 card night with her and her friends! She lives about an hour away and we started to have card nights every other month since there were so many friends interested in making cards, but it was such a long drive for them to come my way (understandable!). With the beginning of summer, it wasn't as well attended as the last one, but I really enjoyed being able to stamp with the few ladies that were there and answer questions without feeling like I was running around everywhere!

The first card is a CASE from the ever-so-talented Mary Fish with just a few little changes made. I just love this Tiny Teacup stamp and I'm so glad it's staying in the next catalog. My mother-in-law holds a monthly "Grandma's Tea" with her friends and I knew this was the perfect stamp for her (she ended up purchasing one for herself!) It's a single stamp with the tea cup and the "hello" right underneath it. I've seen some really fun things made with this ONE stamp! It doesn't show it in this picture, but I ended up adding a small little flower with a rhinestone in the middle and stuck it right next to the hello. I'll try to update with a new picture later!

Stamp Set: Tiny Teacup

Paper: Whisper White, Concord Crush, Perfect Plum

Ink: markers - Concord Crush, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry

Accessories: Dimensionals, Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta ribbon

Tools: 1-1/4" Square punch, 1-3/4" x 7/8" Oval punch, Small Oval punch (retiring and no longer available!)

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This next card I actually used for one of my card nights last summer, but I just had to pull it out again to use for this summer as it was new to these stampers AND the Tart & Tangy stamp set is retiring, so I wanted to ink it up some more!! I added the rhinestones this year instead of the silver brads which is what I used last time. If you look closely you'll see the polka-dotted textured background on the Pumpkin Pie card stock.

Stamp Set: Tart & Tangy

Paper: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron

Ink: So Saffron, markers - So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie

Accessories: Dimensionals, Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon, Rhinestone Accents, Pumpkin Pie flower brad, Dazzling Diamonds

Tools: Ticket Corner punch, Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates (used with Big Shot)

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

The last card we created each guest had their choice of what color scheme they wanted to go with. It was interesting to see which colors were the winners and by far more chose the green and purple (it would have been my first choice, too!) You may recognize these cards as I shared about how to make a "quilt" card awhile back. I added a little butterfly accent this time around.

Stamp Set: With All My Heart

Paper: Poppy Parade, Whisper White, Sunny Garden DSP

Ink: Poppy Parade

Accessories: Dimensionals, Daffodil Delight 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon

Tools: Top Note Die, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die (used with Big Shot), Wide Oval punch

Stamp Set:
Perfect Punches

Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Cottage Wall DSP (retired)

Ink: Rich Razzleberry

Accessories: Dimensionals, Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon

Tools: Top Note Die, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die (used with Big Shot), Wide Oval punch

fabulous florets seed keeper and garden journal...on CPC

This past week I haven't really gotten the chance to play much in my stamp room! My daughter's last week of pre-school was this week and the sun has actually been shining, so the time to be in my stamp room has been limited. I am itching to play along with some sketch and color challenges, but I fear that this next week will be a tough one, too, as I am preparing for TWO Stampin' Up! events next week! Plus, our family is going out of town for an overnight stay at Great Wolf Lodge as a celebration into summer!!

So, for now I want to share with you yet another fun project that is being showcased on Craft Project Central for the month of June! Head on over to subscribe to June to get 10 wonderful project tutorials for only $10! Be on the lookout for a giveaway here on my blog to win a FREE June subscription to Craft Project Central. PLUS, my project that I have designed for Craft Project Central is coming soon!!

This beautiful project below is created by Kim at Paper Punch Addiction.

Do you or someone in your life enjoy gardening? This pretty accordion box is great for holding those extra flower and vegetable seeds for the next growing season. Keep track of what you plant and when, in the included gardening journal that fits right into the accordion box. Also works great for a coupon file, holding extra note cards, receipts and photos!

happy owl...happy graduation!

My cousin's high school graduation party was on Sunday and I wanted to give her a gift card to Bed, Bath, & Beyond so she can find some fun new dorm room accessories when she goes off to college.

Of course I wanted a little something to hold the gift card, and I had remembered making these mini pizza boxes at one of my stamp club meetings and I knew it would be perfect!

I've seen these little graduation owls floating around blog land, and I couldn't wait to make one of my own to add to the top of the box!

{directions for mini pizza box found HERE}

~ box closed with band around it ~

Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes (sentiment)

Paper: Pacific Point, Real Red, Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Celebrations DSP

Ink: Real Red

Accessories: Dimensionals, non-SU! red ribbon

Tools: Word Window punch, Modern Label punch, Two-Step Owl punch, Scallop Square Duo Bigz Die

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

How to Create the Graduation Owl

To create the owl's wings I used the Scallop Oval Punch and cut it in half lengthwise. I then cut one of the halves in half again (see below) to get the two wings. Glue the wings underneath, making them stick out as much as you would like.

To create the graduation cap, I free-hand cut the "kite" on the top as the cap. I cut a strip of black cardstock wide enough to fit the top of the owls head. Using the 1 1/4" circle punch, I punched the end of the strip of paper to get a rounded effect.

Cut the strip of paper down to size and then adhere the "cap" on top.
**Additional notes: You'll notice that in my owl with the finished project up above, I snipped off the owl's feet and replaced them with Tangerine Tango color. I glued the feet down first and then placed the owl's body on top of it. It took a little extra work, but I like the result. I also free-hand cut the mini triangle for the owl's beak. I also took a white piece of paper and rolled it up tight around a thin piece of dowel and then tied a ribbon around it. I adhered it with a couple of glue dots.

Thanks for visiting!
Hope you come back soon!

for baby

I was invited to a baby shower for Saturday afternoon and wanted to make a cute little baby boy card. So, I decided to try another card using this week's colors at The Color Dare, but this time add in Chocolate Chip like I was supposed to (unlike my first card). I really love the addition of Chocolate Chip with the colors Very Vanilla, Tempting Turquoise, and Pear Pizzazz.

Updated to add on 6-7-11: What an honor it was to be chosen as the Featured Stamper at The Color Dare for this card!

{punch art sailboat inspired by Mary Fish}
**The sails of the sailboat are created using a 1 3/8" Square punch cut in half, then I cut a 1" square and cut that in half. The little "flag" at the top is cut free-hand. The bottom circle is half of a 1 3/4" Circle punch.**

Stamp Set:
Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper: Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Brights Pattern Pack (Tempting Turquoise)

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Accessories: 1/2" Poly-Stitched Pear Pizzazz ribbon, Itty Bitty Buttons, glue dots (for button)

Tools: 1 3/4" Circle punch, 1 3/8" Square punch, Word Window punch

turtle birthday

You know how sometimes you make a card (and spend HOURS on it!), but you feel like there is something just not right about it? However, you finally realize enough is enough and you just call it good to be done with it. That is how I felt with this card! I still feel like something is "off" about it...like it's missing something, but before I waste any more of my time and energy on it, I just have to say it's finished. Some lucky little kiddo will get it and smile...and that's good enough for me!

I created this card using colors from this week's color challenge at The Color Dare...

Pear Pizzazz
Tempting Turquoise
Very Vanilla

You'll notice that the turtle is actually stamped on the inside of the card and I made hole for it to show through from the front.

Here is the inside...

And up close...
I added a little black dot for the eye...does it seem too creepy?
I also added some "shadows" on the ground.

Stamp Set: Fox & Friends,

Paper: Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, Tempting Turquoise, Pawsitively Prints II DSP, In-Color Hostess Pack

Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Tempting Turquoise, Crumb Cake used with Blender Pen

Accessories: 1/2" Poly-Stitched Pear Pizzazz ribbon, Tempting Turquoise button, glue dots (for button)

Tools: 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/4" Circle punch
