kid birthday cards

Last night I hosted my monthly card making night. The theme for the evening was Kid-Friendly Birthday Cards in honor of Stampin' Up!'s JUST FOR KIDS campaign happening now through September. There's always a need for kid birthday cards, so the guests made 6 cards for $10 (3 card designs, 2 of each design). I had 3 tables set up and everyone moved from table to table creating each card.

I think everyone had a good time and they were excited to walk away stocked up for upcoming birthdays! I love having friends over to stamp, create, and have fun! Thanks for coming over to stamp, ladies!!

For the cards, I chose to use one stamp set called Pun Fun that I could use for all 3 cards. This is a great set that can especially be used for kids' cards!

Card Making Workshop

On Sunday, my dear friend hosted a card making workshop at her house. I ran it a little differently than your standard workshop. She had wanted her guests to be able to come and make some cards, and I was up for that for sure! So, everyone brought $5 and I had all of the supplies prepared for them to make 3 cards. This is normally how I run my card making nights. Any chance I get to pass on my love for creativity, I'll take it! There were a total of 6 ladies who came and I think they all had a good time.

Here are the cards we made...

This card I had made for my open house a few weeks ago. Since I had so many leftovers that I had already prepared, I thought it would be perfect to use at her party!

This card I made using the Petal Pizzazz stamp set that I was able to borrow from a friend. I love the colors of Certainly Celery and Regal Rose together.

The last card we made kind of evolved out of many trials and errors. I just couldn't get the card to look the way I wanted. In fact, I thought I had decided the "right one", but I still didn't think it was right, so I used a design that a friend of mine had used for a baby thank you and adapted it for the birthday bear. Plus, I got to use my early Christmas present Big Shot die cut machine from my parents!!

All in all it was a fun afternoon with friends!

I'm holding a 3 for $5 card making workshop on Sunday for a very dear friend and to go along with the JUST FOR KIDS campaign during August, I wanted to design a kid-friendly birthday card the guests could create. It took me three shots to finally get it the way I wanted it to look...

1st try

2nd try
3rd time's the charm!

I used the Cute & Cuddly bear (found in the "Growing Up" section of the catalog) with the Party Hearty birthday hat. If the bear with the birthday hat looks a little familiar, it might be from the last kid-friendly birthday card I made.
